Teacher arrested for attempting to have anal sex with student

A thirty-one-year-old teacher has been arrested by
police in Atebubu for allegedly attempting to have
sex with a 19-year-old man.


Joshua Baayi Binbi, is said to have lured the
victim through Facebook after the two had become
friends through the social media platform.

He was on Tuesday arraigned before the Atebubu
Magistrate Court on the count of unnatural canal
knowledge and has since been remanded into police
custody.

He is to re-appear in court on Tuesday, October 4,
2016.

According to the Atebubu District Police
Commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Dzinaku,
the suspect has confessed to the offence and said
he has been gay since 2003 whilst he was in senior
high school.

Binbi who lives in Kumasi is said to have proposed
love to the complainant through Facebook.

The complainant was said to have informed his
elder brother who advised that he accepts the
proposal so they could get him [Binbi] arrested.

Following the proposal Binbi decided to visit the
complainant at Atebubu so they could have sex to
seal their relationship to which the complainant
agreed to meet him on Saturday.

Consequently, he informed the Police about it and
arranged to cause Binbi’s arrest.

At about 7:30pm on Saturday, Chief Superintendent
Dzinaku said Binbi who was on a motorbike met with
the complainant in town as arranged and asked that
they go to his house.

According to the police, Binbi was in the process
of removing the complainant’s trousers when the
police entered the room and effected arrest.
