Two Ahafo Ano Assembly staff nabbed for diverting GHc133,000 Two accounts officers of the Ahafo-Ano South
District Assembly in the Ashanti Region are
helping the police in their investigations into
their alleged involvement in the transfer of
GH¢133,000 from the assembly’s account into
another account.
The suspects, who are on bail pending
investigations, are Felix Fordjour and Basoa
Kodua.
The amount was said to be the assembly’s share
of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) for
the third quarter of 2015.The deal was uncovered
after the assembly’s accounts had been audited
by its auditors and the Bureau of National
Investigations (BNI).
Forged signatures
According to the Mankranso District Police
Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr
John Adusei, the suspects were believed to have
forged the signatures of the District Finance
Officer and the Co-ordinating Director before
transferring the money from the assembly’s

Mr Adusei said preliminary investigations had
revealed that other accomplices of the suspects
cashed the money shortly after it had been
deposited in a different account.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano
South, Mr Gabriel Barimah, declined to comment on
the matter when he was contacted.
