Peace Council condemns Dzifa’s comments The Chairman of the National Peace Council Rev.
Prof. Emmanuel Asante has condemned assertions by
the former Transport Minister, Dzifa Attivor,
saying such tribal comments create tension in
society.
“These are the things that create tension in
society and it must be condemned,” he pointed
out.
He entreated Dzifa Attivor to as a matter of
urgency retract and apologise her comments.
“She should come clean and apologise to the
Ghanaian public, to our brothers and sisters in
the Volta Region for taking them for a ride,” he
advised.
Addressing Journalists, the Chairman of Peace
Council indicated that she paints a bad picture
about her party ruling National Democratic
Congress (NDC) which condones bad practices.
“If you want to give the impression that when
you do something wrong it is a different party
that will deal with you, then you are not saying
anything good about your party,” Rev. Asante
maintained.
Dzifa Attivor on a campaign tour in the Volta
Region with the Parliamentary candidate for Ketu
South Fiifi Kwetey appealed to residents in the
Region to retain the NDC in power in the general
elections in order to avoid the witch-hunting of
politicians from the region.
“If you don’t vote for Fiifi Kwetey and the
NDC, the NPP will send us to jail. It lies with
you all to ensure that no Ewe person goes to
prison. When the NPP came to power in 2001, a lot
of our people were sent to prison; Victor
Selormey, Dan Abordakpui, and so on, were
imprisoned. Was it because no other persons
committed crime in Ghana? But it was only Ewes
that they jailed,’ she said.
Dzifa Attivor resigned her post last year 2015
following the infamous Metro Mass Transit (MMT)
rebranding contract awarded to actress Selassie
Ibrahim.
