Put aside your egos & work for victory-Presidential Staffer tells Upper West NDC

A Presidential Staffer Kale Caesar has admonished
members of the ruling National Democratic Congress
(NDC) in troubled constituencies in the Upper West
Region to put aside their egos and work towards
retaining the party in power by voting massively
in the 2016 general elections.

In an interview with Ultimate News’ Musah Lansah
in Wa, he attributed unresolved disputes in some
of the constituencies to the ego factor among
members in the area.

Some constituencies in the Upper West Wegion
notably Lawra, Wa East, Nandom and Sissala have
been embroiled in misunderstandings which rose out
of the parliamentary primaries of the NDC in 2015.

Though the party has tried reconciling the feuding
factions, it is yet to yield results as no side is
willing to concede to the reconciliation process.

This development Mr. Caeser noted is not healthy
for the party as it goes into the 2016 elections.

He intimated that though its normal to have people
peeved due to unfair treatment, members of the
party should think of the bigger interest of the
party.

Citing Former President John Kuffuor’s argument
that, “it’s better to be a messenger in a
ruling party than being a General Secretary in an
opposition party” to buttress his point, the
presidential staffer urged District Chief
Executives (DCEs) who are in those areas to take
responsibility of reconciling the party.

According to him, “in areas where the DCE’s
are part of the conflict, they (DCEs) should be
the ones leading the reconciliation process. If
the DCE decides to unite the executives, there is
nothing the MP or the candidate can do than being
part of the team”.

On the chances of the party in the elections, Mr.
Caeser expressed optimism that the party will win
all the 11 seats in the region.

According to him, the ruling NDC has done so well
in the region that, the people will not hesitate
to give them another chance to rule the country.
