‘Sam George is a loose canon’ – E. T. Mensah
Defeated Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram,
E.T Mensah wants the leadership of the National
Democratic Congress (NDC) to investigate the
outcome of the parliamentary primaries held in the
area. According to him, he has credible evidence
that Sam George who was the eventual winner rigged
the elections. -

Sam George defeated E.T Mensah in the
party’s
primaries; ending his 20 year reign as MP.
Speaking to Citi News, E.T Mensah said an official
complaint has been forwarded to the party
leadership for action. Multiple voting He argued
that while monitoring the election, “we
heard that people were doing multiple voting in
some places” adding that in Awhiam, there
were people “who were given four to six
ballot papers [and] the Police were there but did
nothing.” “We will collate it and send
to the NDC election committee. I’ve spoken
to the chairman already. I told the chairman that
I want them to investigate. This party has never
been what it is; he came into our book under four
years ago. I think that this boy should be called
to order, he had brought division, this Ningo
Prampram divide was not there. He was the one that
started the problem which led to skirt and blouse
in the 2012 election. Little did anybody know that
they had an agenda,” he said.

The legislator lamented that Sam George’s
people after the election mocked his people saying
“they insult and threaten them. What can we
do, except to send it to the national to see what
can be done. He does things and then look for coat
hangers. Why should you hand your irrational and
irresponsible action on me.” E.T. Mensah
also said Sam George has a long way to go in his
political career. “He is somebody that
should be called to order. He is a loosed canon.
We have really been under serious stress in the
last five months. He claims I’m his father,
he is saying it on radio, and that I should take
him back. I think he would have to purge himself
of the treachery. He has a long way to go, he
hasn’t won election yet and it depends on
you winning and being sworn in before you are
called honourable,” he added. Sam George
polled 53.4% of the total votes cast in the
primary while E.T. Mensah had 38.5%. -
