Armed robber killed in gun battle
A fire battle between Police in Kyebi in the
Eastern region and suspected armed robbers
Wednesday morning resulted in the death of one of
the bandits.

The 28-year-old suspect, believed to be a Fulani,
was killed in the gun battle which ensued on the
Accra-Kumasi stretch of road. Three other suspects
also sustained severe gun wounds but managed to
escape.

A police source who revealed the incident to Starr
News said the police decided to go after the
robbers following regular complaints of attacks by
residents of the area.

The source added that the robbers often ambush
commercial vehicles that ply that portion of the
road and then rob them of their belongings. He
said the Police therefore decided to ply the road
with a commercial vehicle which eventually led to
the fire exchanges .
