47 armed robbers arrested in Kumasi
Police in Kumasi in the Ashanti region have
arrested 47 suspected armed robbers.

The suspects are believed to be behind the various
robbery incidents in the region in recent times.

The Police say the arrests were made upon tip-offs
from residents.

The suspects are to be screened and processed for
court.

Addressing the media, the Kumasi Central
divisional police commander, Superintendent
Stephen Kwesi Kwakye said the Police will
intensify their patrol in order to protect
residents.

“These suspects have been terrorizing people in
Kumasi and its environs for quite some time now.
They are responsible for the various nefarious
acts in the region but fortunately, the public
played a key role in their arrest and we are
hoping that the public will continue to volunteer
information in this regard,” he said.
