Kufuor, Afoko And Nana Addo Hold Key To Instilling Peace In NPP - Kofi Jumah
Former Member of Parliament for the people of
Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon.
Maxwell Kofi Jumah is certain the involvement of
former President John Agyekum Kufuor in mediating
the peace process will bear good fruits eventually
in NPP.

According to him, the key elements in restoring
peace in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are for the
leaders to groom trust, confidence and
coordination among themselves.

Speaking on the issue of recorded minutes of
meetings meant to be private, the former Mayor of
Kumasi in the Ashanti region warned those involved
on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show to
desist from that habit as this has possibility of
breaking every possibility of building trust,
confidence and cohesion in NPP.

He however advised the three leaders namely NPP
Chairman Paul Afoko, General Secretary Kwabena
Agyapong and the Flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo to pay
no attention to the distraction being directed at
them in the social media and from the mainstream
media.

He implored the leaders to remain focused on the
fight to recapture power in the upcoming general
elections in December 2016 as it is ultimate goal
for which they took the mantle to lead the
elephant family.

“…the three leaders should pay no attention
these things and stay focus to do their work. I
have admired President Kufuor, Akufo Addo, Paul
Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong; we have to exercise
patience because the leaders are now patching
their differences to work together”, he opined.

To him, the elephant family especially the leaders
have reached the stage of building confidence and
trust to work together; but added that the effort
of building trust and confidence must be earned
through actions of the leaders.

He pinpointed that “the peace of NPP rests with
former Kufuor, Paul Afoko and Nana Akufo Addo; if
they decide to end the infighting in NPP it will
end at once”.

“I have heard they are making moves to instill
peace, hence this private meeting at former
President Kufuor’s house; if Afoko and Nana Addo
don’t like to see peace in NPP, they would not
have honored the invitation of former President
Kufuor”, he stated.
