Akufo-Addo must publicly back NPP troubled two - Ohene Ntow
A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General
Secretary, Nana Ohene Ntow, says it is only the
party’s 2016 flagbearer who can calm the
troubled NPP waters in the midst of calls for the
resignation of the national Chairman, Paul Afoko
and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

Nana Ohene Ntow is asking Nana Addo Dankwa
Akufo-Addo to publicly affirm his support for the
troubled duo or publicly reject a campaign for
their removal.

“I expect Nana Addo who is the presidential
candidate to speak to the issue. He must declare
his stance and say 'I reject this campaign against
Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong,' I can work with
them or say I accept the calls for their
resignation and I cannot work with them”, he
stressed on Adom FM's 'Dwaso Nsem' Tuesday.

He wants the statement to be made ahead of an
emergency meeting to be held this week by the NPP
National Council of Elders.

Explaining the basis of his suggstion, Mr. Ohene
Ntow argued that Nana Addo’s loyalists are
rallying calls for a vote of no confidence in Paul
Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong.

According to him, the loyalists believe their
campaign is in the interest of the flagbearer.

Although, the flagbearer has distanced himself
from the vote of no confidence campaign, Nana
Ohene Ntow says the flagbearer fell short of
affirming support for Paul Afoko and Kwabena
Agyepong.

The two are under pressure in the party from
supporters who believe Paul Afoko and Kwabena
Agyepong do not have the best interest of the
party at heart.
