MTN wins telecommunications company of the year
MTN, the leading telecommunications company in
Ghana has won four substantial awards at the 2015
Ghana Telecom Awards held at the Movenpick
Ambassador Hotel last night including the coveted
Mobile Operator of the year.

MTN Ghana topped all other telcos in the following
categories; Mobile Operator of the Year, Mobile
Money Service of the Year, Customer Service
Company of the Year and Cloud Company of the
Year.

Speaking at the Awards ceremony, on winning the
Customer Service Company for the second
consecutive time, the Customer Care Executive of
MTN Ghana, Mrs Jemima Kotei-Walsh said “at MTN
we believe Service is the new selling, that’s
why we pay particular attention to our customer
needs”.

She said, a quality service culture is essential
in sustaining and driving the continuous growth
for the business and MTN will continue to pay
attention to the things that are critical in
improving customer experience.

She said, the awards demonstrate the huge
investments MTN continues to make in its network
and business to ensure unparalleled service
delivery to its valued customers across the
country.

The Mobile Operator of the year award was in
recognition of the company’s consistent and
substantial investments in their network which has
been evident in the Mobile operator passing in a
sustainable way all the independent quality of
service tests carried out by the National
Communications Authority which measures various
call quality parameters to ascertain the
experience our cherished customers receive on our
network.

The National Communications Authority commended
MTN for the high performance of its network. MTN
has the widest 2G coverage across the length and
breadth of Ghana as well as the first
telecommunications company to attain 3G coverage
in 170 district capitals, thus leading the
delivery of a bold new digital world and
unparalleled 3G data experience to its
subscribers.

The Mobile money service of the year was in
recognition of MTN’s sustained and innovative
products and drive to ensuring financial inclusion
to the large sections of the unbanked population,
as well as meaningful products designed for
SME’s to facilitate the drive towards the
achievement of a cashless society.

Mrs Kotei-Walsh dedicated the awards to all MTN
customers. The Ghana Telecom Award is organized by
Mobile World Ghana to reward and recognize not
only the products and diverse innovations that
keep the ICT sector exciting, but also the
companies and people who make the industry great.
It is also held to celebrate tremendous success
stories of the ICT sector achievements in
improving the socio-economic development of
Ghana.”
