Electricity Is Not Like Chewing Gum - Kwesi Pratt Why do we keep on experiencing this serious energy
crisis when we are not far from solutions in
salvaging the problem? In fact, I’m totally
confused how things are going because promises and
excuses are just too much” Managing Editor of
the Insight newspaper has said.
According to Kwesi Pratt Jnr. the problem keeps on
persisting without any concrete solution to curb
the menace known as ‘Dumsor’.
Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is currently
shedding a 12 hours light, 24 hours with no light
system across the country.
The exercise has been triggered by the
inconsistent power supply in the country.
The crisis has taken a toll on businesses where
some companies have laid off some workers.
Meanwhile, government has revised its notes on the
arrival of the emergency power barges. John
Jinapor, Deputy Power Minister said the barges
would now arrive somewhere September.
President Mahama at the 2015 National May Day
parade held at the Independence Square in Accra
insisted that he is working hard to fix the
crisis.
But Mr. Pratt Jnr on Accra based radio Gold
Saturday said “the promises are just too much
for Ghanaians now and that makes me more confused
because you cannot fathom what authorities expect
before they get the problem totally fixed.
“If we don’t know where we are, we cannot plan
for the rest of the days or years to come.
Electricity is not like chewing gum and so we
should be interested in who manages it and serve
the people of Ghana what you promised them” he
stated. Source - Peacefmonline
