Bola Ray, Otabil, others to be honoured as Ghana’s most influential personalities
The fifth edition of Ghana’s Most Influential
Personality Awards ceremony is set to take place
this evening at the La-Palm Royal beach hotel in
Accra.

The event, which is one of the prestigious award
ceremonies in the country, seeks to recognise
Ghanaians who are making great impact in the
society.

The Chief Executive officer of the Excellence in
Broadcasting (EIB) Network, Kwabena Anokye Adisi,
more commonly known as Bola Ray will be among the
recipients of the awards.

Bola Ray was voted the most influential individual
on Ghana’s media landscape.

He would be honored alongside astute religious
leader Dr. Mensa Otabil, NPP flagbearer Nana Addo
Danquah Akufo-Addo, political advocate Martin
Amidu, Lawyer Ace Ankomah, Chief Imam Sheik Osman
Nuhu Sharubutu, businessman and CEO of UT Bank
Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy
Lumba), Anas Aremeyaw Anas, and many more.

The award scheme is solely based on public
voting.

Prior to the event, General Manager of eTV Ghana,
JOT Agyeman, said his network was eager to reward
this year’s top 100 most influential
personalities in Ghana for their “modest
contribution to national development.”

According to him, “this event has been a great
way of giving our viewers and the general public
the opportunity to tell us about the people who
have affected their lives and their societies in a
positive way.”

The process for this edition of e.TV’s Ghana
Most Influential Awards officially started in
November when the bid was opened for the general
public to nominate personalities they believed had
been most influential in the year 2014.

Nominations were solicited through radio, TV, via
text through a short code, and online. Public
voting was 70%, while a specially constituted
committee had a 30% voting weight, bringing it to
a total of 100%.

The entire voting process was verified, vetted and
approved by Pannell Kerr Forster (PKF), a highly
respected audit firm.
