GN Bank signs GHC2.1M Sponsorship package for Division One League
GN bank has officially been announced as Headline
of the Division One League.

The League which will now be referred to as "GN
Bank Division One League", is set to begin over
the weekend across the country.

Speaking at an event held to launch the League in
Accra, GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi expressed
gratitude to the bank on behalf the Division One
League Board and the clubs

He further stated that the sponsorship deal help
develop the second-tier league.

"This sponsorship comes as a relieve to the GFA
and the Division One clubs. It will also go a long
way to develop the Division One League", Mr.
Nyantakyi said.

Mr. Issah Adams, General Manager of GN Bank also
explained the Banks motivation for coming on
sponsors of the Division One League.

"We recognize football as the passion of the
nation and as the people's bank, we see the
Division One League as the people's league because
it is made up of 48 clubs from every part of the
country".

"We also believe that the Division One League
offers a breeding ground for unearthing talents
for our various national teams".

"GN Bank considers our decision to sponsor the
Division One League as part of our corporate
social responsibility", he explained.

The Sponsorship package which is worth about GHC
2.1 million for three years will be paid in three
tranches.

An amount of GHC 600,000 will be paid in the first
year whiles GHC 690, 000 and GHC 793, 500 in the
subsequent years.

GN Bank has also offered to sponsor an awards
night at the end of the season.

First Digital TV has also agreed to show a match
per week as well as recorded matches within the
week.

The 2014 /2015 Division One season will begin on
Saturday and Sunday 21/22 February in all three
zones.

In the new structure of the Division One League,
clubs will engage eachother in a 16-club league in
each of the three zones with winners of the zones
qualifying into the Premier League.
