Rate of money sharing to NDC delegates alarming – John Boadu National Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic
Party, John Boadu is worried over how the NDC’s
National Delegate Congress has been swamped with
state funds by some aspirants.
According to him, if such monies could be shared
to delegates in an internal elections within the
NDC, then the general elections would be worse.
He however opined that “for the incumbent
national chairman [Dr. Kwabena Adjei] of the NDC
to even express concern shows how worrisome the
situation is. He said some aspirants are paying
huge sums to delegates canvassing for their votes.
He is even shocked.
“…I appreciate the idea that, Kwabena Adjei
said he will investigate the money sharing
allegations even if he loses his position as the
chairman,” he said
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, John Boadu
bemoaned that, Ghana’s economic crisis under the
current administration can also be blamed on
excessive use of state funds by the NDC during
elections.
“The problems we are facing as we speak now,
apart from other reasons, in 2012 the amount of
money that was captured as being over-spent in the
budget was more than the budget allocation for
2008…monies disbursed by this government for
their campaign was unnecessary and we are now
facing the hardship,” he said
“It’s surprising that, in this their congress,
accusations of money sharing is being pointed at
the corridors of power,” he stated. Source - Peacefmonline
