Ex-international Abukari Damba highlights Ghana's goalkeeping problems
Ex-Ghana international goalkeeper Abukari Damba
says the team’s current three gloves men do not
fit the bill.

The 1992 Olympian backs his argument with the fact
that three different goalkeepers have been used in
last five of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifiers.

Fatau Dauda began the series before dislodged by
Aduana Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams who was
between the sticks for the matches against Togo
and back-to-back games against Guinea.

Spain-based Razak Braimah was selected for last
Saturday’s match against Uganda and was blamed
for the goal conceded in the 1-0 reverse in
Kampala.

“We have had challenges with this particular
department for a period of time, it is very true
that if anyone of the three goalkeepers had
impressed they would have permanently stayed in
post for the Black Stars,” Damba said.

“This tells you that satisfactorily they are not
performing to the expectation of the technical
team and as such have no choice than to keep
rotating them.

“I don’t think this is good for us, the three
keepers are on the same level but are not
competitive enough.”
