NDC Youth Organiser arrested over fraud
Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that
Hilarious Mawuli Appiah Breni, the former Abuakwa
South Constituency Youth Organiser of the National
Democratic Congress (NDC), and current head of the
Non-Formal Education Unit of the East Akim
Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, has been
arrested by the Kibi police for allegedly taking
GH¢1,000.00 each from two people.

The suspect, currently on police enquiry bail, has
been charged for defrauding two people [names
withheld after taking their monies and promising
them that he would recruit them into the Police
Service.

DAILY GUIDE further gathered that Breni, who vied
for the constituency youth organiser position but
was defeated, allegedly used the money to buy
votes from the delegates.

Inspector Latif, the Kibi Police Crime Officer,
told this paper that the suspect three months ago,
convinced the victims to give him GH¢1,000 each
so that he would recruit them into the police
service, when they approached him with a request
that they needed a top
official of the ruling NDC help them with the
recruitment.

The crime officer said that after the victims had
parted with the money, the suspect failed to
assist them and kept dodging them.

They kept searching for Breni to claim back the
monies.

Having looked for him in vain, the angry victims
went to report the NDC Youth Organiser to the
police.

According to Inspector Latif, the police invited
the suspect but he refused to turn up on five
occasions, compelling them (police) to go for a
bench warrant from the Kibi Magistrate Court,
presided over by Alice Effuah Yirenkyi, to cause
his arrest.

He further posited that, Mawuli last Friday came
to the police station and brought only GH¢200 as
part payment, but was charged for fraud and put
before the court.

He added that the NDC man was later granted bail
and was to reappear before the court on Tuesday
for hearing.
