Alan Kyerematen Is ‘My Man’ - Akufo-Addo The flag-bearer of the main opposition New
Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has
described his arch-rival in the party’s
presidential primaries as ‘my man’.
In a personal thank you-letter he wrote in
response to an open letter written to him by an
Aide to Kyerematen about the need for unity ahead
of the 2016 elections, Akufo-Addo said: “As
aptly put by ‘my man’ Alan Kyerematen, the man
you worked for as press aide, the NPP tradition is
best exemplified in the statement “after
competition comes co-operation”, and I see your
letter in that spirit”.
The former foreign affairs Minister said: “I am
determined, in a “camp-blind” manner, to
assemble all the talents in our Party so that we
can realise the great task of mobilising the
overwhelming majority of the Ghanaian people for
victory in 2016”.
“The NPP programme of transformation and
development is a credible platform around which we
can unite the people of Ghana for lasting progress
and prosperity”, the former Attorney General who
has won the flag-bearer slot for the third
consecutive time, told Chief Obosu Mohammed in his
response.
He added: “I am confident that with co-operation
amongst ourselves, Ghana will work again with an
NPP government at the helm of affairs”.
He polled more than 94 per cent of votes cast by
more than 125,000 delegates at the party’s
congress on October 18, 2014. Kyerematen could
only manage a little more than four percent of
votes cast in the competition. Source - Starrfmonline
