ABANTU to celebrate 10th anniversary of Women's Manifesto
The Women's Manifesto Coalition (WMC), hosted by
ABANTU for Development, is celebrating 10 years of
the launch of the Women's Manifesto for Ghana in
September this year.

The main event would be held at the Ghana
International Press Centre on September 2, 2014 at
10:00am.

The Manifesto was launched in September 2004 after
a year of consultation with CSOs, District
Assemblywomen, media practitioners,
representatives of political parties, Ministries,
Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and parliament
from all ten regions of the country.

The Manifesto therefore addresses issues such as
the low representation of women in governance, the
inadequate access of women to resources, the
predominance of women among people living in high
poverty and the high rates of maternal mortality
among other issues of critical concern to women's
well being.

BloggingGhana's STAR-Ghana funded the programme,
informghana, is collaborating with ABANTU and the
Women's Manifesto Coalition to mark the tenth
anniversary celebration. The partnership will
include publicity and coverage of the issues in
the Manifesto and related events marking the
anniversary celebration on social media.
Additionally, a Google hangouts discussion on the
issues, successes and challenges of the Manifesto
will be held,
