NDC Nat’l Organiser to petition IGP over Tamale shooting allegations The National Organiser of the National Democratic
Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, has disclosed
his intention to petition the Inspector General of
Police (IGP) over allegations that he was behind
shooting of some New Patriotic Party (NPP)
supporters in Tamale last Thursday.
Though the police are investigating the incident,
which left nine persons injured, some members of
the NPP are pointing accusing fingers at the NDC
Organiser.
Among them is Hopeson Adorye, who claimed on
Monday on Okay FM, an Accra-based radio station,
that Mr Gyan paid the shooters to carry out the
act.
But reacting to the allegations on Okay FM, Mr
Gyan said he will petition the IGP, Mohammed Ahmed
Alhassan, to invite all those making the
allegations to provide proof, if any, of the
accusations.
Already the Northern Region branch of the NPP has
named an “NDC sympathizer” as the one who shot
into the crowd of merry-making NPP supporters at a
pub in Aboabo, a suburb of Tamale. Source - TV3 Network
