Parliament adjourns again- Lack of Quorum
Parliament was once again forced to suspend
sitting as a result of the inability of the house
to raise the required number to form a quorum.

Member of parliament for Atwima-Nponua, Isaac
Kwame Asiamah, evoked order 48 of the standing
orders of parliament and called for adjournment of
sitting.

Member of parliament for Tarkwah-Nsuaem in the
Western region, Mrs. Gifty Eugenia Kusi seconded
the motion.

The first deputy speaker, Doe Adjaho called for
the adjournment of proceedings ten minutes after
order 48 was evoked as required by the standing
orders.

Only thirty nine members reported to the chambers
today.

Meanwhile, parliamentary press corps coordinator,
Nana Yaw Asare Mensah died after a short illness
on 6:45 pm Tuesday at Mercy Clinic in Mataheko,
Accra.

He was reported to have died of cholera but
efforts are being made to ascertain the real cause
of death as there are suspicion of negligence on
the part of staff on duty at the clinic where he
passed on.

This brings to a total number of five members of
the parliamentary press corps that lost their
lives between January to September this year.

He was 44 years old. May his soul rest in peace.
