Don't vote skirt and blouse - President Mahama Accra, Sept 19, GNA - President John Dramani
Mahama on Wednesday embarked on his Greater Accra
Regional Campaign with a call on supporters of the
National Democratic Congress (NDC) to avoid voting
'skirt and blouse' in the forthcoming 2012 general
election.
He said both the executive and legislative worked
hand-in-hand to ensure development and therefore
voting skirt and blouse would be detrimental to
the development agenda.
President Mahama made this call when he carried
his campaign trail to Osu-Clottey, Adabraka and
Odorna where he was received with drumming and
dancing amidst shouts of "one touch and idey bii
keke.”
The President said an overwhelming vote for the
NDC without a corresponding vote for the party's
parliamentary candidates would not be the best as
the candidates would fail to make the mark in the
house of legislature.
He gave the assurance that he would continue with
all the projects late President Mills had
initiated and called on them to vote massively for
the party's presidential and parliamentary
candidates come December 7 this year.
He said: “The NDC, as a social democratic party,
will ensure that all communities throughout the
county get their share of development projects."
The President dismounted the vehicle at Osu Oxford
Street where he acknowledged cheers from party
supporters who had organized themselves
strategically to catch a glimpse of him.
Interestingly, the convoy passed by the NPP
headquarters at Assylum-Down where they teasingly
waved their hands demonstrating signs of 'yese
sem' to wit, we shall change the government. Source - GNA
