President Mahama and his Vice, Amissah-Arthur

NDC group ask President Mahama to maintain Amissah-Arthur as running mate
A group calling itself "founding members" of the
National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central
Region, have appealed to the flagbearer of the
party, John Dramani Mahama to nominate Mr Kwesi
Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, the Vice President as his
running-mate for the December 7 elections.

Mr Kofi Mintah, spokesman for the founding members
said Mr Amissah-Arthur the former Governor of the
Bank of Ghana is a tried and tested person.

Mr Mintah said he had worked with Amissah-Arthur
when he (Kofi Mintah) was the first Regional
Chairman of the party and has proved capable of
becoming a leader.

He said Mr Amissah-Arthur has been working behind
the scenes since the formation of the party and
could support the flag-bearer in mobilising votes
for the party.

Mr Mintah said Mr Amissah-Arthur’s nomination
would be an excellent honour to the memory of the
late President Evans Atta-Mills.

He appealed to the leadership of the party to
accept Mr Amissah-Arthur when nominated.
