Nana Addo: "I do not think that the spilling of a single drop of a Ghanaian blood is worth of my victory."

Blood spillage is not worth my victory – Nana Addo
The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),
Nana Akufo-Addo, has called on the country’s
security agencies to exhibit fairness in executing
their duties during the December elections in
order to avoid bloodbath.

Speaking to members of the Inter Party Youth
Committee, who visited him at his Nima residence
in Accra, Nana Addo said an impartial and
responsible security agency is a guarantee that
the nation will be peaceful during the elections.

Nana insisted that the security services must act
as “agents of the Ghanaian people and of the
Ghanaian state in ensuring that peace is
maintained before, during and after the
elections.”

“I do not think that the spilling of a single drop
of a Ghanaian blood is worth of my victory, but at
the same time the security agencies should not act
as agents of any party and ensure a lasting peace
before and after the elections,” the main
opposition leader said.

“They [the security agencies] hold part of the key
to peace and stability in our country,” Nana Addo
said.

He added: “If we have a security service that do
their work impartially, and do their work in a
responsible manner, that is the best guarantee
that peace will prevail in our country.”
