I will expose NPP members involved in the STX deal if…Adenta MP
The Member of Parliament for Adenta Constituency,
Kojo Adu-Asare has threatened to exposed members
of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) whom
he claims benefited from the controversial STX
housing deal if they continue to vilify President
John Mahama.

He maintained that some NPP members will be found
culpable if they consider the handlers of the
housing project to have engaged in some corrupt
deals.

Adu-Asare was responding to the NPP's claim that
President John Mahama's involvement in the STX
deal smacks of corruption.

The controversial STX housing project, which was
to address the country's huge housing deficit, was
abrogated due to protracted boardroom wrangling
between STX Construction Company Limited, Korea
and their Ghanaian counterparts, STX Engineering
and Construction Company Ghana.

The flagship housing deal initiated by government
was to roll out some 30,000 affordable housing
units at a cost of $1.5 billion for security
personnel as the first phase of the project.

Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme
Thursday, Kojo Adu Asare described as
'disingenuous' attempts by the NPP to link the
failed STX housing deal to President Mahama.

He posited that the NPP which has now assumed a
holier than thou attitude engaged in more
scandalous contracts while in government.

The Adenta MP indicated that President Mahama made
frantic efforts to ensure the project came into
fruition hence cannot be blamed for its failures.

“Why are we trying to hang STX on the President;
for me it is disingenuous to the highest point,”
he quizzed.

He said he has enough evidence that implicates
leading members of the NPP involved in corrupt
practices in the erstwhile Kufuor administration.

“The NPP should not dare; some of us we have
things but we want sleeping dogs to lie but if
they want to dig up issue; we will also go and dig
up issues.”

Adu Asare urged the NPP to engage in politics of
issues than politics of personality attacks ahead
of the December general elections.
