The late Alhaji Sani Iddi Wulensi MP laid to rest The Member of Parliament (MP) for Wulensi, Alhaji
Sani Iddi, who died Monday, has been buried at the
Tema Community 9 Cemetery, in accordance with
Muslim customs and rites.
The Majority Leader, Mr Cletus Avoka, and some
members of staff of the Parliamentary Service were
at the residence of the deceased at Klagon, near
Tema, to mourn with the bereaved family.
The Deputy Imam of Ashaiman, Sheikh Mustapha
Haruna, led members of the Muslim community,
family members and some MPs to pray for the
deceased after the burial.
Earlier in Parliament Wednesday, the Speaker, Mrs
Joyce Bamford-Addo, had formally informed the
House of Alhaji Iddi’s death.
After leading the House to observe a minute’s
silence in honour of the deceased, she conveyed
the sympathy of the House to the bereaved family.
Sitting of the House was adjourned at 12 noon to
enable the MPs to join the bereaved family to bury
their deceased colleague.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegation to the
funeral was led by Dr Mahamudu Bawumiah, while the
Convention People’s Party (CPP) delegation was
represented by its Chairperson, Ms Samia Nkrumah.
Also present at the funeral were Ministers of
State, including the Minister for Transport,
Alhaji Collins Dauda, and the Northern Regional
Minister, Mr Moses Magbengba.
