Rawlings has an agenda to disintegrate NDC - Adu-Asare
The National Democratic Congress' Member of
Parliament for Adentan Constituency, Kojo
Adu-Asare has said that criticisms being poured on
the NDC by its founder, J.J. Rawlings is part of
an agenda to disintegrate the fortunes of the
NDC.

According to the Adentan MP, the actions of the
Rawlingses are akin to giving the New Patriotic
Party (NPP) salvos to throw back at the NDC.

The MP also added that allegations by the former
President that there are traitors in the NDC are
vague saying that there is also a possibility of a
'traitor' living close to the former first
family.

Kojo Adu-Asare was speaking on Joy FM's news
analysis programme, Newsfile which was also shown
on Joy News Channel on Multi TV Saturday.

The Adentan MP admonished members of the NDC to
start ignoring the Rawlingses who he said will not
renege in their 'efforts to disintegrate the
fortunes of the NDC'. According to him, he has
taken a personal decision not to comment on the
actions of the Rawlingses on any media platform
again.

According to Adu-Asare, the statement made by the
NDC founder J.J. Rawlings at the 30th Anniversary
ceremony of the 31st December Women's Movement,
clearly reveals that the Rawlingses have a clear
plan of severing their relationship with the
ruling party hence their claim of ownership of the
NDC logo.

Kojo Adu-Asare maintained that with hard work, the
Mills-led government can win the December
elections without Mr. Rawlings on their campaign
trail.

According to the Communications Director of the
NPP, Nana Akomea who also appeared on the
programme, the divisions in the ruling NDC are so
deep that they can not be easily brushed aside as
they attempted to do earlier.

Nana Akomea revealed that the cracks in the NDC
will lead to a break-away faction forming a
political party to contest in the upcoming general
elections although members of the NDC will be
quick to deny that.
