Nii Lantey Vanderpuije says his former mentor has lost the NDC values.

Rawlings has lost his NDC values - Nii Lantey
Aide to President Mills and Parliamentary
candidate for the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii
Lantey Vanderpuije has boldly hit back at ex
President Rawlings saying, if there is anyone who
has lost the NDC values then it is no other
persons than Mr. Rawlings and the people around
him.

According to Mr. Vanderpuije, majority of NDC
loyalists are saddened and hurt by the scathing
comments made by ex President Rawlings.

Ex President Rawlings on Tuesday, attacked the
NDC leadership describing some government
appointees as not “genuinely minded, NDC spirited,
NDC-hearted people and want to destroy the party
in favour of something else”.

He further described officials in President
Mills' administration as traitors and self seeking
politicians.

Mr. Rawlings added that this year’s election will
create a lot of stress in the country unless the
political selfishness, greed, thievery and
ingratitude are exorcized from the NDC.

However, speaking to XYZ News, Mr Vanderpuije
said the real traitor in the NDC is ex President
Rawlings since he has failed to appreciate the
sacrifices that were made towards the NDC during
their youthful days.

He described the comments by the NDC founder as
unfortunate adding that the path chosen by ex
President Rawlings has the tendency to affect the
party’s political fortunes.

“They (comments) are unfortunate and to a great
level smacks of ingratitude to those of us who
have spent our youthful days working for him” Nii
Lantey said.

He added “what values is he talking about? If
anyone has lost any values then it is the people
around him or it is he himself...I have not lost
any values because they are still relevant to me
today”.

“I am not politically selfish, I am not a
coward…if for all the sacrifices we have made
since 1991; people have died, some still have
bullets stuck in their legs and if we cannot be
appreciated then who should be called a traitor?.

“Why does he and his family alone think they are
the only saints in our party, why does he think he
is the only right person in our party? Has he
bothered to ask himself why all those people he
started with have left him? The old man and the
old lady have lost it and lost it big time.”
