Mills is best placed as Editor of a tax law journal
“If we’re looking for an editor for a tax law
journal, Professor Mills will be absolutely
brilliant and there will be absolutely no
challenger in that field” but according to
Mustapha Hamid, the search is not for an editor of
a tax law journal but a leader to lead the
Ghanaian political project.

Speaking on Joy News Television’s political talk
show, Minority Caucus on Multi TV, Mr. Hamid said
“the results in the (past) 4 years have shown that
he (President Mills) doesn’t have the passion and
commitment” to lead the Ghanaian political
project.

According to him, the kind of leader needed for
this project is one who is committed, passionate,
courageous and is ready and willing to accept
responsibility. Attributes he says the opposition
leader clearly demonstrates.

Mr. Hamid argued that whereas Nana Addo has
dedicated more than half of his life to the course
of advancing the ‘Ghanaian political project’,
President Mills has not shown much commitment
making him unqualified to lead the project.

“From the young age of 33, he’s been involved in
this Ghanaian project, now he’s about 67, so for
more than half of his life’s existence on earth,
he’s been dedicated to the Ghanaian project.
That’s what we mean by passion and commitment”
Mustapha Hamid said of Nana Addo.

President Mills on the other hand he contended
“was pulled into this matter reluctantly in 1996
under the wings of former President Jerry
Rawlings, that’s how come he’s here. It’s not a
passion of his, it’s not being his commitment like
some of us. And we’re looking for a leader for a
political project not a leader to chair a journal
on tax law” a position Mustapha Hamid thinks the
president is best placed to occupy.
