Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin North

Kennedy Agyapong insists he will not relent on telling the truth
Assin North MP Kennedy Agyapong who was detained
for three nights by the BNI for inflammatory
comments he made on his radio station Oman FM has
said he will not relent on telling the truth.

He was charged with treason felony, attempted
genocide and terrorism for the comments he made.

The MP was mobbed by hundreds of people when he
arrived in his constituency for the first time
since his detention Saturday.

Although he stated he will not be cowed by the
charges, the MP urged the youth in particular to
refrain from using intemperate language.

Central regional correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko
told Joy News that Kennedy Agyapong’s brought
activities in the constituency to a ‘standstill’.

The MP advised that it is beneficial to speak in
decent language when communication cautioning
that, their love for him should not employ them to
engage in any violent act.

In another development, the New Patriotic Party
Member of Parliament aspirant for Ablekuma South,
Ursula Owusu has challenged the police to provide
proof of their claims that she has refused to
assist in investigations into a case of assault
against her.

This follows claims by Acting Police Public
Relations Officer for the Accra Command, Sergeant
Kwabena Danso that Ursula is yet to honour an
invitation to assist in investigations into her
assault at Odododiodoo.

She was assualted by machomen allegedly hired by
the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC’s)
candidate for the area, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, who
has denied the claim.

But Ursula Owusu, who denied the claims by the
police, told Joy News she has reasons to suspect
the police are just providing a cover for their
own inactions.

She explained that she has given whatever
information needed for the investigations to the
police and has even gone to the crime scene with
the police divisional commander.

“I have submitted my statement, I have submitted
my medical reports, I have given them names of
those who could assist with the investigations…”

She vowed never to let the case die a natural
death. “…I just want to assure them (the police)
that I have no intentions of letting this case
go.”
