AFCON 2015: Ghana must confront SA fiercely – Appiah
The Black Stars must approach their last group
game against South Africa with the same
determination and commitment they displayed
against the Algerians on Friday, this is the
advice from ex-Captain Stephen Appiah.

Striker Asamoah Gyan scored for Ghana deep into
injury-time to give the Black Stars a lifeline in
the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 in Equatorial
Guinea.

The win puts the four-time African champions in a
somewhat stable position after losing their
opening game against Senegal.

Many believed the Black Stars would lose against
the number one ranked team in Africa after a
turgid display against Senegal on Monday.

Speaking on Extra Time with Henry Asante Twum on
Starr 103.5FM, Saturday, the former Juventus star
said the Black Stars can only qualify from their
group if they maintain their composure and team
spirit which gave them the victory against the
North Africans.

He added that the Black Stars must also guard
against complacency and approach the Bafana Bafana
game with discipline.

Appiah, who recently retired was, however, elusive
on the chances of the Black Stars saying they have
what it takes to win the tournament but must focus
on qualifying from their group.
