AshGold chief Fianoo discounts Hearts as title contender
AshantiGold’s Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has
reduced this season’s Premier League title
charge to a two-horse race– discounting Hearts
of Oak as a title contender.

The Miners climbed to second despite dropping
valuable points at home in Sunday’s barren draw
with Berekum Chelsea.

AshantiGold however pip Hearts to the second spot
on a superior head-to-head rule with both sides on
27 points.

But Fianoo insists his side are only competing
with leaders Asante Kotoko for this season’s
Premier League title.

“It is now a two horse race between Kotoko and
AshantiGold,” he told Metro FM.

“I don’t regard Hearts as a title contender.
We are in to win it from Kotoko.”

AshGold are now seven points behind leaders Asante
Kotoko at the end of the first half of the
season.

The Miners are still in search of their first
Premier League crown since winning their last in
the 1995/96 season.
