All Stars beat Kotoko; Hearts draw at Tema
Wa All Stars have exorcised the Kotoko ghost that
has long haunted them with a priceless 1-0 victory
against the Porcupine Warriors in Wa.

A 33rd minute opener by Samuel Azuma was enough as
All Stars secured their first ever victory over
Kotoko since 2007.

The defeat notwithstanding, Kotoko maintained
their lead on the league with their closest rival
and league contender Accra Hearts of Oak drawing
1-1 in Tema against Tema Youth.

The Phobians had their noses in front in the
second half through an own goal by Kenneth Owusu
but in a dramatic fashion, the own goal villain
rallied back late in a game with a redeemer of an
equalizer.

The result could only make Hearts’ Serbian
trainer Nebojsa Vucicevic angry, stomping out of
the field of play soon after the final whistle.

At the Lenclay Sports Stadium, Ashgold trounced
Mighty Jets 3-0 with Yakubu Mohammed scoring a
brace.

The emphatic victory could only soar the
confidence of the Obuasi lads who are having jerky
outing this season.

Goal Keeper Daniel Nii Adjei scored his second
goal this season by a converting another penalty
to save the blushes of the Dansoman based club.

New Edubiase had taken the lead early in the game
and looked destined to pick maximum points but a
penalty award to Coach Sarpong’s side meant the
spoils would be shared in Dansoman.

Defending league Champions Berekum Chelsea were
also held by Heart of Lions in a pulsating 1-1
drawn game.

Emmanuel Clottey scored for Chelsea with Gilbert
Fiamenyo getting the much needed equalizer.

Aduana Stars shared the spoils with Dwarfs
courtesy a goalless draw game .

Medeama play Wassaman in late kickoff.
