Nima traffic Police most corrupt in Accra – DSP Awuni
The Director General of the Motor Transport and
Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police
Service, DSP Awuni Angwubutobge has revealed that
complaints received by his office indicate that
traffic officers at the Nima Police station are
the most corrupt in the capital, Accra.

DSP Awuni has, therefore, admonished the Nima MTTD
divisional police commander Hajia Sa-ada to be
firm and instil discipline in officers under her
unit.

“Nima has come on the radar, Nima, the
allegations of extortion at Nima police
station...Hajia you need to sit up. As at
yesterday, somebody complained that 160 Cedis was
extorted from him. Someone also said 30 Cedis,
Nima Police station,” DSP Awuni said Wednesday.

DSP Awuni also said he has received similar
complaints about officers at the Madina and Adenta
police units.

“Adenta and Madina too there are a lot of
complaints coming about MTTD people there,
gentlemen if we start whipping, don’t blame
anybody, because we may be compelled to start
reshuffling and if we start whipping don’t blame
anybody,” DSP Awuni added.
