Ghanaian youth must take a stand in politics – Samira Bawumia
The wife of the Vice Presidential candidate of the
New Patriotic Party, Samira Bawumia has called on
the youth to actively participate in Ghana’s
political discourse to enable them make prudent
decisions in choosing their leaders.

According to Mrs. Bawumia, a lot of young people
shy away from politics; an attitude she said must
changed saying, “young people should care about
what’s happening; they should care about
elections, they should care about politics. A lot
of people don’t want to be involved because it is
tough out there, but it is not about frontline
politics."

She made this call during the official launch of
the NPP flagbearer’s Electronic campaign on Sunday
at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan ICT Centre of
Excellence.

Addressing the gathering at the launch, Samira
Bawumia noted that politics is about a
consciousness and decision making based on
information, “decision making that will affect
your futures and that is what we are calling on
all young people to use this platform to do, so
that we can make the decisions that will inform
what our future will be. The choices we’ll make
today will determine our future so we have to
ensure we make a right choice and then secure a
good future for each other”.
