Smoke out non-performing State Attorney's– GBA President President of the Ghana Bar Association, Frank
Beecham, is calling for serious reforms within the
Attorney-General’s Department following what he
describes as poor attitude of State Attorneys in
defending the State.
His proposal comes on the back of the huge public
outcry at the performance of State Attorney’s in
the handling of judgment debt cases.
Frank Beecham indicated that disciplinary actions
could be taken against these State Attorneys who
are implicated in the payments.
“If a State Attorney has been found not to have
done his work as expected of him as a lawyer, he
can be disciplined but you need a complainant to
say that a State Attorney has behaved
unprofessionally, then he will go before a
disciplinary committee of the Ghana and Legal
Council and then he will be disciplined”, he
explained.
