Ken Agyapong back in court with fresh charges The embattled Assin North Member of Parliament,
Kennedy Agyapong, is back in court and fresh
charge of terrorism is being leveled against him
besides treason.
Hon. Agyapong was granted bail hours ago by a
Human Rights Court with two sureties in the sum of
GH¢ 200,000.
It is not likely he will be released to go home
after spending three days in Bureau of National
Investigations cells.
The judge ordered for his release on health
grounds. The lawmaker is reported to have high
blood pressure following his detention.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker has been in
the grips of the law enforcement agencies since
Monday and a move to have him released on bail on
Wednesday hit a snag.
The opposition firebrand is being held in BNI
cells over comments he made on an Accra-based
radio station, Oman FM which have been described
by many as inflammatory.
The magistrate, Patricia Quansah, who was supposed
to handle the case, however, declined to proceed
stating her jurisdiction does not extend to cases
of such magnitude.
