Friends of Doe Adjaho defends Ave- Avenor MP's re-election bid
The “Friends of Doe Adjaho” (FODA), has hinted
that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ave- Avenor
would oblige to the consent of his constituents
whether to step aside or continue to represent
them in Parliament.

Mr James Gunu, Secretary of FODA who made this
known to the Ghana News Agency in Ho on Friday
said: “For now the will of the people is that he
(Doe Adjaho) must go again.”

Mr Adjaho, Lawyer and First Deputy Speaker of
Parliament has been the MP for the constituency
since 1992.

Mr Gunu said the “chemistry” between Mr Adjaho
and the traditional area “shows peace for
development”.

He said the dissenting voices against Mr Adjaho's
bid for another four- year term in Parliament
“are few”.

Mr Evans Gadetor Dzikunu also a Lawyer is seeking
to unseat Mr Adjaho as National Democratic
Congress's candidate for the 2012 parliamentary
election.

However Mr Gunu has expressed optimism that Mr
Adjaho would be the NDC's candidate for the
election.

Mr Gunu said before 1992 when Mr Adjaho entered
Parliament only Akatsi was connected to the
National Electricity Grid in the constituency.

He said currently 300 communities in Ave-Avenor
are connected to the grid.

Mr Gunu said through the initiative of Mr Adjaho
the first phase of the Akatsi town roads would be
tackled at a cost of GHȼ 42 billion.

He said through Mr Adjaho, the Akatsi Health Post
has been upgraded to a District hospital while a
GHȼ70,000 mothers' lodge and GHȼ30,000
weighing shed have been built at the hospital.

Mr Gunu said Mr Adjaho is also spearheading the
construction of an irrigation dam at
Ave-Afiadenyigba capable of irrigating 10 hectares
of farm lands.
